Lavender Fields En plein air

I spent a very pleasant day painting en plein air at the Helvetia Lavender Farm with Kathy Delumpa Allegri's watercolor class.

I challenged myself a little, trying to get a panoramic view.  I definitely need to do this more!

This was done with Yarka St. Petersburg watercolors in a Stillman & Birn 11x14 Alpha sketchbook.

  1. I really like this one, specially how you did all the flowers/trees and the different colours you used for the ground.

    1. Thank you! The Risslon dagger brush I have makes it easy to get different shaped brush marks. I was a little worried about color because I took my Yarka travel set, and I wasn't sure I'd have the right colors. They worked out well though.

  2. Very nice! I'd frame and hang it. :-)
